This Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Business and Human Resource Management evening programme is highly relevant to the workplace, offering a suitable solution for students looking to complete a HR degree during the evenings, while retaining a full-time job, offering part-time flexibility for those with busy schedules. The programme has a greater focus on the skills and knowledge needed for the Human Resources function in modern organisations.

Throughout the duration of your education, you will study a range of course modules, which will help you understand contemporary developments in HR, learning and development, employee relations, as well as giving you a solid grounding in the fundamentals of business relevant in both Hong Kong and the UK.

The final year of our bachelor’s programme is for students with a Higher National Diploma (HND), an Associate Degree or a Higher Diploma in Business while the year 3 pathway helps other students with post-secondary qualification bridging to the final year of the bachelor’s degree.

MGT302 - Managing Business Continuity and Resilience (30 credits)

  • Apply a range of analytical skills to understanding the complex inter-related functions of business

MGT304 - Business Consultancy Project (30 credits)

Learning Outcomes – Knowledge:

  • Appraise, evidence and apply the concepts and practices of management consulting within a range of sectors, organisations and job family roles
  • Critique and defend the processes required for a consultant to meet a range of potential research settings
  • Select and evaluate the tools and techniques required to source, critique and implement a range of potential viable and realistic solutions
  • Debate and articulate the critical, methodical and creative problem-solving practices required to be an ethical and reflective internal or external consultant

MGT307 - Professional Human Resource Skills (30 credits)

Learning Outcomes – Knowledge:

  • Analyse the concept of conflict and the obstacles and emotions encountered when having difficult conversations
  • Demonstrate the ability to advise on a range of contentious employment practices using effective inter-personal skills in accordance with employment legislation to mitigate organisational risk
  • Demonstrate and appraise their own essential HR transferable skill-set
  • Analyse the ethical, procedural, legal and best practice requirements of a HR professional

  • Having difficult conversations (courage to challenge and influence)
  • Investigation interviewing (probing and being inquisitive in the handling of grievance, discipline, bullying and harassment processes)

Mode of Study
Evening Face-to-face (On campus / MS Teams)
  • This HR degree can be completed in a minimum of 12 months.
  • Each module consists of 60 hours with a combination of online lectures and face-to-face tutorials.
  • Tutorial schedule is designed to suit busy professionals who work and study at the same time, making this programme suitable for those who would like to take on a part-time study schedule.

Entry Requirements
HKDSE/HKCEE/HKALE/IB Diploma/Associate Degree/Higher Diploma
  • Holder of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business / HRM; OR
  • Applicants who are holders of Higher Diploma/Associate Degree in Business / HRM or equivalent are considered on a case by case basis; AND
  • English proficiency of IELTS 6.0; GCSE Grade C or equivalent.
  • Other students without the above qualification are considered on a case by case basis or can enter the final year top-up programme via HND pathways.

Candidates whose first language is English or whose previous verified qualification was taught and assessed in English are exempted from the aforementioned English Language requirement.
