This Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Management programme will ensure you have a strong grounding in the fundamentals of business such as strategy, operations and logistics, human resource management and marketing.

Our UK institution’s BA (Hons) Business and Management online programme (Year 2) in Hong Kong will provide you with all the education needed, along with the widest range of transferable business skills and global business management knowledge. This evening programme allows a flexible part-time schedule for busy students.

The Year 2 top-up degree can be studied as a stand-alone programme for those who already have a Diploma in Business, or a Higher National Certificate (HNC) with work experience while the year 1 pathway helps other students with post-secondary qualification bridging to the Year 2 of the BA (Hons) Business and Management.

MGT201 - Managing Self and Others (30 credits)

Learning Outcomes – Knowledge:

  • Appraise and evaluate personal and professional qualities and attributes to explain behaviour and its effectiveness.
  • Identify and consider the implications of concepts and practices of effective management of self and others (specifically human and relational).
  • Apply appropriate people management techniques to the contemporary employment relationship.

Learning Outcomes – Skills:

  • Examine the relevant concepts to evaluate professional behaviour and investigate this in the context of the success and performance of organisations.
  • Study some of the problems that can arise in the workplace.
  • Analyse cause and resolution strategies to enhance performance and engagement.

MGT202 - Delivering Projects for Organisational Success (30 credits)

Learning Outcomes – Knowledge:

  • Apply appropriate tools and techniques to source, critique, and evaluate approaches to project management to deliver organisational success.
  • Examine the need for reflective, transformational integrative approaches to delivering projects for organisational success.
  • Evaluate and debate project success factors.
  • Critically debate approaches to problem-solving and contemporary project management in organisations.

Learning Outcomes – Skills:

  • Explore some of the fundamental and contemporary components necessary to plan, assess and manage successful projects.
  • Study this in the context of organisational operations, logistics and holistic supply chains.
  • Develop the knowledge and skills of process and human aspects of project management in delivering organisational success.

MGT203 - Integrated Marketing Practice (30 credits)

Learning Outcomes – Knowledge:

  • Analyse and appraise transformations that are occurring in marketing thinking, strategy and practice.
  • Analyse and appraise the mechanisms and practices of value creation, communication and delivery in contemporary marketing practice.
  • Demonstrate the importance of an integrative and holistic approach in marketing.
  • Evaluate dilemmas facing contemporary marketing practice.

Learning Outcomes – Skills:

  • Build a holistic view of applied marketing through the exploration of contemporary developments, case studies and debates.
  • Analyse and appraise innovations in marketing thinking and practice that are occurring in response to changes in the marketing environment.
  • Examine the need for an integrated approach in contemporary marketing practice.

MGT204 - Corporate Finance and Portfolio Valuation (30 credits)

Learning Outcomes – Knowledge:

  • Develop a comprehensive national and international understanding of how corporate financial decision-making impacts upon organisational success.
  • Refine key analytical and interpretive skills within the context of evaluating investment-based portfolios.
  • Gain a holistic understanding of key topics and concepts in corporate finance including dividend policy, financial statement analysis, sources of finance available to business, mergers and acquisitions, and portfolio analysis.

Learning Outcomes – Skills:

  • Compare and contrast a range of theoretical models that underpin corporate finance and portfolio valuation decision-making.
  • Apply, analyze, and interpret how financial data influences financial decision-making.
  • Critically reflect upon how financial decision-making tools and techniques impact upon the value of a portfolio.

Part Time Online Learning
  • This degree can be completed in a minimum of 2 years (starting from Year 2 Entry).
  • Tutorial schedule is designed to suit busy professionals who work and study at the same time.

  • This programme is assessed by 4 assignments.

Entry Requirements
2 pathways available

There is a possibility to be admitted to an online bachelor’s degree (Year 2 Entry) if you are:

  • Holder of a Diploma in Business; OR 
  • Applicants who are holders of a Certificate in Business or equivalent with work experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis; AND
  • English proficiency of IELTS 6.0; GCSE Grade C or equivalent.
  • Other students without the above qualification are considered on a case-by-case basis or can enter the Year 2 programme via HNC pathways or enter the Year 1 of BA (Hons) Business and Management.
